Accessibility scores: what they show and where they stop

Scores can support trend monitoring, but they do not replace finding review, scope disclosure or a criterion-by-criterion conformance assessment.

Treat the score as a signal

A score summarises defined automated results for the pages and rules included in a run. It may help teams compare the same scope over time, but a changed sample can make comparisons misleading.

Keep reviewed evidence beside it

Manual findings, critical-journey outcomes, unresolved review items and testing limitations provide the context a single number cannot carry.
